Accessibility

We want everyone in El Paso to be able to find a good deal, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or other assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What we do

• Every deal on the map is also in a text list, so you never need to see or use the map itself.
• Listings, filters, buttons, and map pins have text labels for screen readers, and everything can be reached by keyboard.
• We check text and badge colors for readable contrast, and pages work with browser zoom and larger text.
• We test our pages with automated accessibility checks when we make changes.

Known limits

The map images come from OpenStreetMap and can’t be fully described to a screen reader. The deal list next to the map has the same information. Some deal details come from the businesses themselves, and we fix unclear wording when we find it.
